I've just watched the above video teaser for an upcoming documentary on the phenomenon that is Minecraft. I'm not going into a long essay explaining the game, if you've never heard of it visit the game's website here, others please read on.
The game looks as addictive as hell! The last time I was addicted to a game was Alex The Kid, on The Sega Master System. I played that game all day. I liked the fact that everyone else was into Super Mario or Sonic The Hedgehog, so Alex made me different.
I'm staying away from Minecraft because it's the kind of game that will lead to lots of very unproductive days. I do miss the escape of video games but I don't miss the dent it put in my pocket from buying the game and the associated items (t-shirts, joysticks, etc).
I find nowadays I get my adventure from a mix of TV (True Blood, Dr Who, Homeland) and real life mishaps and capers.
